The Beatitudes Movement launch event took place on Sat, Nov 19th, 2016 at Jal Gua Organic Cafe. We all came together for an evening of giving and blessings, with live music and guest speakers while collecting gifts-in-kind for homeless women and children.

Performances by: Lauren Margaret Marron and Claire Couturier, Domanique Grant, Ruth Mathiang, and XOLISA

Guest Speakers: Almerinda Colella from 416 Community Support For Women,  Princess from House of Daniel Fashions, and Emmanuel Jal (owner of Jal Gua cafe, peace activist, and musician).

During the event we collected many essential items like clothes, women's toiletries (pads, shampoo, body wash, etc), and baby toiletries (diapers, wipes, etc) and also raised $355, which was used to purchase grocery gift cards for each shelter. The items and gift cards go to: Red Door Family Shelter, YWCA Toronto, 416 Community Support for Women, Sistering: A Woman's Place, WINGS Maternity Home, Nellie's Shelter, and Jessie's - The June Callwood Centre for Young Women.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support! Your contributions are a blessing to the women and children receiving them. Thank you to Jal Gua cafe for hosting us!
